Back Home Again- Piccolo Spoleto Sketch Comedy

I had the pleasure of speaking to the talented Tahlia Robinson. She is taking her one-woman show to the road. Tahlia’s solo show, “The Real Bubble Lives of Building 104” will be a part of the 2018 Piccolo Spoleto starting May 31 – June 3, 2018.

We all have dreamed of becoming successful in life; and Tahlia has proven that with consistency, believing in what you want and working hard no matter how many times your hear the word “No”, your breakthrough will surface. Tahlia got her start in Theater 99 and is still currently an active member in the company her in Charleston, SC. Tahlia is a native of Charleston SC, and alumni of both Ashley Hall, Charleston SC & Columbia College, Columbia SC. With a dream to make others laugh and find joy in life, she decided that uprooting to New York City would create new opportunities and help diversify her portfolio by adding comedy, sketch shows, and Improv to her skills list. Tahlia has been featured in the comedic play, “Hidden Fences, the improv with Dirty Little Secrets and has made several comedic songs about food.

Tahlia and I had a fantastic conversation I decided to ask her a few questions:

Tiffany- How did the opportunity come about to perform that this year 2018 Piccolo Spoleto?

Tahlia-“I wanted to perform for the longest but missed the deadline, when the opportunity can again, I jump on it early with wing and a prayer.”

Tiffany-What can the people expect from this one-woman show?

Tahlia-“I see it as an escape from reality, take the best from it and have fun.”

Tiffany-How does it feel to be back home to perform?

Tahlia-It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to bring my work something I worked hard to create and having back some is an amazing feeling.

Tiffany- Its seems like you have come back full circle you left Charleston six years ago to move to New York to pursue your comedy and sketch career and now you are back at the most popular event in Charleston.

Tahlia- Yes!! It’s exciting to bring my vision home, to display my work, I want to be able to do more shows in Charleston and eventually travel with my shows.

Tiffany-Do you believe that consistency was the key to your breakthrough or believing that if you work hard no matter what the outcome things will come to pass.

Tahlia- I believe that consistency is a part of it, but if it’s something you genuinely want to go for it, cheer for yourself when no one else is cheering. You will work hard and give your best performance as of everyone is watching.

Tiffany- What is your advice to anyone that wants to follow their dreams or a goal they want to reach but are afraid to do so?

Tahlia- Make a plan believe that you will meet your tribe. You get noticed it may not happen overnight, but it will happen.

Tiffany- What is next for Tahlia? What other goals or aspirations that you want to achieve?

Tahlia- Bring more shows to Charleston, traveling, overseas and do shows there are no limits for me. I have a chance to open new doors.

Please everyone go check out Talia’s incredible show.
